Science bedtime stories for curious kids
Calm stories that answer big questions: why the Moon changes, how bees make honey, where rain goes, how a ship floats. Picture books for ages 3–8.
Why read stories about science & nature?
Curious children ask their biggest questions at bedtime. These stories answer them inside a plot: a deer follows a shadow to learn why night comes, a goat compares a metal block and a bowl to see why ships float, a lamb watches one blossom become an apple.
The science is accurate and simple, explained through what the character sees and tries, so it settles a busy mind instead of stirring it up.

A minute of talk after the last page is where a story turns into a conversation. Try one of these:
- What did the hero discover?
- How could we test that ourselves tomorrow?
- What else would you like to know about it?
Tips on asking questions without turning bedtime into a quiz are in our guide to reading aloud.
